Stage 1 of the Queenstown Lakes Proposed District Plan has recently been notified and is open for submissions. Submissions close on 23 October 2015. This is the first of a two-stage review of the District Plan to be undertaken over the next few years. In short, there are a LOT of changes proposed in Stage 1 concerning residential development, rural areas, Queenstown/Wanaka/Arrowtown Town Centres, Subdivision, Business and Industrial Areas, and much, much more! Phew!
These proposed Planning rules (and the associated intent behind them) will affect everyone in the District. Whether you live here, own property, run a business or are just an avid Mountain Scene/Wanaka Sun reader and love to know what is happening around your community – these changes affect you.
Remember – Submissions close on 23 October 2015. If you wish to be part of this process it is important that you make a submission (it can also be a submission supporting the ideas proposed).
